Kris McLaughlin

Kris is passionate about helping people with learning disabilities have better opportunities at work. He uses his own experience to support organisations to become more inclusive and fair.

Kris has worked with ACE, where he supported campaigns for people with learning disabilities. He was also involved with Apt PSP (Public Social Partnership), helping to give ideas and feedback on projects that support disabled people into work.

He has been a member of the SUSE Experience Network since 2021, where he works with employers to improve workplaces and make job applications and training more accessible. He has helped test online systems and apps, and has contributed to campaigns such as Why You Askin’.

In 2022, Kris completed a Train the Trainers course with SUSE and the University of Strathclyde and enjoys talking to people and sharing his knowledge. He is excited to continue developing his skills and working with others to make a positive difference. He currently works as a Rapporteur for SCLD (Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities) on their flagship programme for change, Include for Good.

Kris wants to see more people with learning disabilities getting jobs and having the chance to build independence, friendships and confidence through work.
